Marshell es una veterana educadora que lleva más de 30 años trabajando al servicio de los estudiantes y las familias en múltiples puestos. Esto incluye 14 años como maestra y 17 años como administradora de la oficina central y del edificio. Actualmente es Directora de Aprendizaje Temprano del Distrito de Servicios Educativos de Malheur. Le apasiona mejorar las oportunidades y el acceso para todos los niños.

Lo que más le apasiona es contratar, apoyar y mantener una mano de obra de alta calidad para el aprendizaje temprano, de modo que todos los niños desde el nacimiento hasta los 5 años tengan la mejor base y preparación para la escuela y la vida.

Fuera del trabajo, a Marshell le encanta pasar tiempo con sus nietos leyendo, jugando o enseñándoles cosas nuevas. Le encanta pasar tiempo en casa con su marido y sus tres perros. Le encanta cocinar y hornear. Le encanta viajar a nuevos lugares para conocer la historia, la geografía y la cultura de sus habitantes. Espera un futuro en el que todos los niños tengan acceso a la atención que necesitan. Está agradecida por la oportunidad que se le ha brindado de trabajar con personas de ideas afines y apasionadas

Rod Belknap

Subdirector de Aprendizaje Temprano/Director de HUB

Rod forma parte de la comunidad de aprendizaje temprano desde hace 20 años. Antes de incorporarse a Early Learning Hub, fue director de programa y director interino de un programa Head Start en Ontario. Tiene mucha experiencia en el diseño y la gestión de programas Head Start. Rod entró a trabajar en Head Start con muy pocos conocimientos sobre educación infantil. A lo largo de los años adquirió muchos conocimientos y apreció lo que los programas de Educación Infantil pueden hacer por los niños. Espera compartir estos conocimientos, mejorando los sistemas y ayudando a todos los niños de la región de Hub a estar preparados para la transición al jardín de infancia.

Fuera del trabajo, Rod disfruta pasando tiempo con su mujer, su hija, su yerno y, sobre todo, con sus nietas. También le gusta acampar, ir de excursión, navegar en kayak, hacer paddle boarding y a menudo se le puede encontrar en el campo de golf.

Tanya Faughn

Especialista en programas de aprendizaje temprano y finanzas

Tanya is dedicated to her work as a Program & Finance Specialist. She is always eager to learn new skills and take on new roles and responsibilities, with nine years of experience in Special Education and five years with the Early Learning Hub. Since December 2020, she has brought strategic oversight and financial expertise to her position, ensuring the effective delivery of programs and services.

Tanya is an ORO Step 10 professional and has spent the past three years contracting with Four Rivers Healthy Community, where she plays a key role in supporting the annual Four Rivers Healthy Community Conference (formerly the Health Equity Conference). Her work reflects a deep commitment to advancing equity and well-being across the region.

A proud member of the community for over 25 years after relocating from Portland to be closer to family, Tanya is passionate about building strong, supportive networks for Community Partners and families. She also serves as an Imagination Library Volunteer for Malheur, Payette, and Washington Counties, helping connect local children and families with the joy and benefits of early childhood literacy.

Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, cooking for her family, sewing, and capturing moments through photography.

Tammy Pierce

Sus valores principales son la familia, el amor y la integridad que guían su trabajo en la creación de oportunidades para los niños y sus familias para alcanzar su pleno potencial. Este trabajo se realiza a través de la colaboración con todos los socios de la comunidad, los padres y los proveedores para encontrar las formas más eficaces, inclusivas y equitativas para servir a las familias en los condados de Baker, Malheur y Wallowa.

La pasión de Tammy por el trabajo es conectar los puntos entre la comunidad y las familias para asegurar que estamos mejorando los resultados para los niños y la alineación de los servicios en un sistema eficiente y eficaz para todos. Está agradecida por poder vivir en el rancho familiar, en una pequeña comunidad del condado de Baker. Ella y su marido disfrutan del estilo de vida que conlleva la vida en un rancho. Tienen tres hermosas hijas y les encanta verlas crecer como mujeres inteligentes, seguras e independientes.

Brenda Núñez

Parent Engagement Specialist

My name is Brenda Nunez. I was born and raised in Ontario, Oregon, and am now proud to be raising my own children in this wonderful community. Prior to my current role, I served as a secretary at a local elementary school for five years, where I worked closely with families and children on a daily basis. This experience deepened my passion for supporting the well-being and development of young learners.

My ultimate goal is to help families and children in our community thrive. I believe that preschool is a vital part of a child’s educational journey, and I am committed to ensuring that every family has access to a program that meets their needs and supports their goals.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my spouse, our son, and our daughter. We are a dedicated soccer family and spend most weekends on the field or at indoor facilities cheering on our son and siblings. We also love sunshine-filled days, hosting cookouts, and playing outdoor games with extended family and friends.

Tammie Dockter

Tammie was born and raised in Eastern Oregon.  She has been a Registered Nurse since 1987.  Tammie began her career in nursing in LaGrande, OR, practiced in the Midwest for a few years, then returned to the Treasure Valley in 1991.  Since then, she has served this community in several capacities as a nurse, including working with families and young children during her 12 years as a public health nurse home visitor, followed by 11 years coordinating care for children with special health care needs in a pediatric clinic.  Tammie treasures the memories of the many children and their families that she has had the honor to work with and care for throughout the decades.  

In April of 2023, Tammie transitioned into the role of Home Visiting System Coordinator for the Eastern Oregon Region, which comprises Baker Malheur, and Wallowa Counties. 

In her work as Home Visiting System Coordinator, Tammie thoroughly enjoys meeting and working with people, including community partners, home visitors, systems partners, and families and their children.  Forming trusting relationships with others is at the foundation of Home Visiting Systems work, and Tammie values these relationships immensely.  

In her work Tammie strives to improve all aspects of  the home visiting system with clear communication, increased professional development opportunities for home visitors, development of the home visiting workforce, improving ease of making referrals, and by increasing parental involvement within the home visiting system to truly make informed decisions and changes, based on parental ideas and feedback.

Apart from work, Tammie loves spending time with her husband, family, and dogs.    Tammie’s hobbies and interests include reading, cooking, gardening, and watercolor painting.
