You will learn a practical, trauma-informed reparenting framework to recognize dysregulation and support children’s regulation. This training provides a comprehensive introduction to Oregon’s Spark, the state’s Quality Recognition and Improvement System (QRIS). Participants will learn about Spark’s purpose, benefits, eligibility requirements, participation process, and the Quality Improvement Cycle as the framework for Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI). The session also highlights resources to support goal setting and quality improvement planning, helping providers make informed decisions about participating in Spark and strengthening the quality of their early learning programs.

Social skills need to be taught just like skills in any other domain. This training will start with a discussion about determining whether it is a “can’t do” or “won’t do” problem. The training will present a 6-step process for teaching social skills, including creating visual aides and writing individualized social stories to teach behavioral expectations.
